The name-giving raga of the Asavari thaat. Ga and Ni are omitted in the ascent; komal Dha, rendered with a slow oscillation, is the focal note. A late-morning raga of a gentle, melancholic disposition. The variety with komal Re is usually treated as a separate raga (Komal Rishabh Asavari).
